Members advise local planning authorities, developers, and landowners as well as objectors on the preparation and adoption of Development Plans.
The work of members includes:
- Assisting with the preparation of the evidence base for plans, their compliance with regulations, as well as the requirements of sustainability appraisal and strategic environmental assessment.
- Promoting and defending development plans in all forums from Examinations to High Court challenges. Members appreciate the team work that goes in to making a successful plan as well as that engendered in making a successful objection to a plan.
- Advising on the long term strategy of those promoting the development of any given site including the question of objection to Development Plan documents where appropriate.
