Cornerstone has a long-standing tradition of undertaking Health and Safety work and has acted for over 300 local authorities and for many major Plc’s, including FTSE 100 companies.

Its area of work includes:

Chambers has been involved in many of the recent catastrophic rail disasters, i.e. Southall, Paddington and Hatfield, and also regularly undertakes inquest and environmental work.

One member in particular, Gerard Forlin QC, has an international reputation in this area, having acted for many of the FTSE 100 companies.  He has lectured and consulted in over 30 countries appearing in many of the pivotal cases of the last ten years, including the leading case on risk, R v Porter, and notably virtually all the railway crashes.  He is the author of over 90 articles and is General Editor of “Corporate Liability: work related deaths and criminal prosecutions”, 3rd edition to be published by Bloomsbury in 2012.  Key recent cases include the lift case in the City of London gym, R v Shaw and the Barrow legionnaires case, R v Gillian Paula Beckingham.  Gerard Forlin QC is ranked in all the leading Directories and has been asked by a nuclear international regulator to assist them.  He is a consultant to numerous international government departments and is also a practising barrister in Australia.
