Who we are
We are recognised leaders in the field of housing and property law, working for over 300 local authorities, RSLs and private clients. As a result of our wide range of experience in these areas, members of Chambers have long been familiar with the impact of the immigration and asylum legislation on such areas as housing, social services, community care and landlord and tenant.
What we do
We have a dedicated immigration team that advises and represents clients on all aspects of immigration:
- nationality and refugee law
- issues relating to arrest, detention and deportation,
- access to welfare and support,
- asylum claims under the 1951 UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and European Convention of Human Rights,
- war crime cases,
- third country cases and family reunion.
Chambers' expertise on the impact of the Human Rights Act 1998 has proved invaluable in this area.
Members have appeared in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (both at first instance and at reconsideration hearings), the High Court, the Court of Appeal, the House of Lords and recently in the newly created Supreme Court.
