The Directive requirements for the Strategic Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes have the potential to impact on a wide range of initiatives (and not simply on development plans).
The requirements can be more exacting than the more familiar obligations of EIA, particularly in relation to the consideration and evaluation of alternatives.
We have experience in dealing with the need for and scope of SEA in the context of development plans, local transport plans, PFI projects, and other implementation plans for a wide range of public authorities.
