Appeals By RES UK & Ireland Ltd. And EON Climate And Renewables UK Development Ltd. (February 2012) (Jack’s Lane And Chiplow Wind Farms)

Planning and Environment

These conjoined appeals were heard at an inquiry to consider the Council’s refusal to grant planning permission for two commercial scale windfarms (5 and 6 turbines each over 100m) at Syderstone and Stanhoe near King’s Lynn in Norfolk.

Asitha was instructed by two local Action Groups and was led by David Hart QC.

Expert evidence was called on Noise, Ecology (birds), and Cultural Heritage by the Action Groups with Asitha solely responsible for the Cultural Heritage topic. The inquiry lasted for one month. Although some cultural heritage harm was acknowledged by the Inspector, the appeals were ultimately allowed.
