The Cornerstone Housing Team will be hosting a series of training sessions across the country on the Homeless Reduction Act 2017, ahead of the Act coming into force in April 2018.
The Act builds on the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act 1977 and Homelessness Act 2002, effectively introducing two new duties for local authorities:

• A duty to take steps to prevent homelessness
• A duty to take steps to relieve homelessness

The training aims to provide an up to date legal overview of the Act, with a particular emphasis on practical applications.

It is relevant to all those working in social housing, including lawyers in local authorities and housing associations, private practitioners and social housing consultants
