The Act builds on the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act 1977 and Homelessness Act 2002, effectively introducing two new duties for local authorities:
• A duty to take steps to prevent homelessness
• A duty to take steps to relieve homelessness
The training aims to provide an up to date legal overview of the Act, with a particular emphasis on practical applications.
It is relevant to all those working in social housing, including lawyers in local authorities and housing associations, private practitioners and social housing consultants
