Mediation in the Public Sector – Why Not?

FreeTraditionally, the public sector has been slow to exploit mediation to resolve its disputes. However the Ministry of Justice is now proposing mandatory mediation, and digital justice is on the horizon.
In addition, the Court of Appeal is considering whether to recognise a judicial power to stay litigation for parties to resolve their disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Is it time for the public sector to embrace negotiated dispute resolution more fully?
Cornerstone Barristers and IPOS Mediation are proud to co-host this free event at Gray’s Inn, followed by a drinks reception, where our panel of mediators and public sector litigators will consider the opportunities and challenges that mediation presents for public sector dispute resolution.
