We’re proud to share that leading environmental and planning barrister Nina Pindham has been featured on the front cover of the May/June 2025 edition of The Planner, the official magazine of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

The in-depth feature, titled “The owl and the barrister”, offers a rare insight into Nina’s journey from her wild and nature-filled upbringing in Nova Scotia to becoming one of the UK’s most respected voices in planning and environmental law.

Written by journalist Simon Wicks, the six-page spread covers everything from Nina’s early influences – growing up with a meteorologist father and a veterinarian mother – to her passion for biodiversity net gain (BNG) and her newly published book on the subject, A Practical Guide to Biodiversity Net Gain.

The cover image, featuring Nina with a barn owl, perfectly captures her natural affinity with the environment – an image as striking as it is symbolic of her career-long commitment to sustainable planning and environmental integrity.
