In January 2021 Lisa was instructed to act for MSDC in on-going litigation involving challenges to its decision to close a community hall rendered unviable due to Covid-19. The case raises important issues concerning the scope of local authorities’ planning powers in the context of the pandemic by deviating from the applicable Masterplan for the area, in circumstances in which the hall is currently being used as an essential vaccination centre by the NHS.
