Cornerstone Barristers is delighted to announce the addition of Victoria Osler to its team.

Victoria, a barrister called to the Bar in 2001, is joining Cornerstone with a wealth of experience in property, housing and public law. With a stellar reputation as a leading junior in the field of Social Housing, she is recognised by both Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.

Victoria is a formidable force in all aspects of real property and landlord and tenant law, covering both residential and commercial contexts. Her expertise spans a wide range of legal issues including lease interpretation, adverse possession, restrictive covenants, and disputes over rights to light, easements, boundaries, and more. Victoria is particularly noted for her meticulous preparation, doggedness in cross-examination, and analytical prowess in submissions.

Her involvement in public sector work is equally impressive, with considerable experience in dealing with housing acts, fire safety regulations, possession claims, and a range of other matters. Victoria’s keen interest in public law has seen her act for local authorities in homelessness appeals and challenges to allocation policies, demonstrating her commitment to impacting social welfare positively through her legal expertise.

Educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and a recipient of prestigious scholarships and awards from Middle Temple, Victoria also contributed to the legal community as an assistant editor and co-author of respected legal publications including Housing Encyclopaedia and Jowitts Dictionary of English Law.

“Cornerstone Barristers are delighted to welcome Victoria Osler as a member of chambers”, said joint head of chambers Philip Coppel KC and Tom Cosgrove KC. “She brings a wealth of experience and talent with her. Described in the 2023 edition of Legal 500 as: “an outstanding trial advocate who is exceptionally well regarded within her field as meticulously prepared, dogged in cross-examination and analytical in submissions”. Victoria will enhance our property, housing and public law teams.”

On joining Cornerstone Barristers, Victoria Osler said: “I am delighted to be joining Cornerstone Barristers and look forward to working with both existing and new clients, continuing to provide the service they expect, safe in the knowledge that I am supported by well respected and formidable colleagues and a first-class clerking and administrative support team.”
