Estelle Dehon KC to Speak at BIEE Policy Conference on UK Energy Strategy

On Wednesday, 18 September, Estelle Dehon KC will participate in a high-profile panel discussion at the British Institute of Energy Economics (BIEE) Policy Conference, taking place at One Birdcage Walk, London. The conference, themed “Delivering the Energy Transition: Pace over Perfection,” will explore critical issues in UK energy strategy.
Estelle will join fellow experts, including Inge Hansen (SSE), Gavin Knott (Ofgem), and Mike Thompson (National Grid ESO) for an hour-long debate on “Strategic Planning and Markets: Navigating Complexity in UK Energy Strategy.” The session will examine the challenges of scaling the UK’s energy system, balancing market mechanisms with strategic planning, and addressing complex uncertainties amid growing local opposition and international competition.
As a prominent barrister in planning and environment law, Estelle’s insights will be vital in shaping the discussion on how the UK can navigate its transition to a low-carbon future.
The panel will be chaired by Rob Gross, Director of UK Energy Research Centre, and is scheduled for 15:25–16:30, followed by a networking reception.
