Planning and Environment

We are delighted to announce that Estelle Dehon has been nominated as a Women of Influence in planning by The Planner for the third time.

Estelle is a public lawyer with a wide-ranging practice, focusing mainly on environment and planning law, with particular expertise in climate change matters, and data protection and access to information.

She argued, as appellant, two planning cases before the Court of Appeal in 2019, both of which are now leading cases: Squire v Shropshire Council [2019] EWCA Civ 888, the leading case on environmental impacts of intensive farming; and Oyston Estates v Fylde BC [2019] EWCA Civ 1152, which dealt with jurisdiction to challenge neighbourhood plans. Oyston is the subject of an application to the Supreme Court.

Other recent cases include Frackman v SSCLG [2018] EWCA Civ 9, the leading case on the environmental impacts of fracking.
