Today Kelvin Rutledge QC and Riccardo Calzavara of Cornerstone Barristers are in the Supreme Court in an appeal (Croydon London Borough Council v Kalonga) that seeks clarity as to the manner in which a local authority can determine a fixed-term secure tenancy during its term and, particularly, whether a landlord can terminate a flexible tenancy agreement prior to the expiry of the fixed term if the agreement does not expressly provide for re-entry or forfeiture.
Kelvin and Riccardo represent the Appellant, Croydon Borough Council, and are instructed by Jenny Fraser-Browne.
