Planning permission secured for Copella Fruit Juice production facility in the AONB
Planning and Environment, Public Law and Judicial Review
Planning permission has been secured on behalf of Konings Juices and Drinks UK for an extension to existing production premises with associated car parking, landscaping and drainage infrastructure. The development is at the farm in Boxford in Suffolk where the well know Copella fruit juice is produced.
Tom Cosgrove QC and Robert Williams were instructed by Boyer on behalf of Konings to advise in relation to the planning application. They provided ongoing advice over several months relating to expansion of the existing fruit juice production facility in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Suffolk. The facility, owned by Konings, has produced the famous Copella fruit juice for several years. The owners wished to expand. The proposed development faced extensive local opposition and was threatened with Judicial Review proceedings.
Working with Boyer, Tom Cosgrove QC and Robert Williams provided planning advice in relation to new government planning policy relating to the AONB, the planning considerations associated with major economic benefits for the region and strategic advice in relation to securing permission. Permission was granted on 15 March 2019.
