Sam Fowles advising MPs on the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill
Public Law and Judicial Review
Cornerstone’s Sam Fowles is in Westminster today (11th December) advising MPs from the Conservative, Labour, and Scottish National Party on the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill, known as the “Rwanda Bill”.
The Rwanda Bill raises a number of constitutional issues. It is the first Bill of its kind aimed at explicitly overturning a finding of fact that has been endorsed by the Supreme Court.
Sam has been asked by MPs from across the political spectrum to advise on the Bill’s political and legal implications. Sam regularly advises and represents individuals, NGOs, legislators, and public bodies across the political spectrum.
Sam is part of Cornerstone’s public law team. He also serves as Director of the Institute for Constitutional and Democratic Research (“the ICDR”) and has argued many of the most significant constitutional and public law matters of recent years.
