Cornerstone Barristers announces two new planning silks

Cornerstone Barristers is pleased to announce that Michael Bedford and Richard Ground are to be appointed Queen’s Counsel in the new silk appointments announced on 11th January 2016.

Michael Bedford has an extensive planning practice acting for developers and local authorities on large planning inquiries, compulsory purchase for both infrastructure and regeneration schemes, retail schemes, urban extensions, development plans, highways infrastructure, and waste projects. His practice also covers Strategic Environmental Assessment and related environmental matters, as well as property issues associated with development projects, including covenants, easements, village greens, and public rights of way.

Richard Ground is a planning specialist with particular expertise in difficult planning and enforcement inquiries. He regularly acts for leading firms of solicitors, developers and local authorities on significant housing and infrastructure projects, as well as High Court challenges relating to planning. Richard is an elected committee member of Planning Environment Bar Association.

Their appointments will bring the total number of silks at Cornerstone Barristers to 13.
