One of the most common issues arising in section 204 (homelessness) appeals is the question of the suitability of accommodation offered by local housing authorities under specified elements of their Part 7 obligations. This in-person seminar will look at the issue from the point of view of both the applicant and the authority making the offer, consider some good practice review and appeal points for both parties, and put the topic in its proper legislative context.
Kuljit Bhogal KC, the joint chair of chambers’ Housing Team, will chair a panel consisting of Andy Lane and Sarah Salmon, addressing the issue from the authorities’ position, and Lois Lane and Jeremy Ogilvie-Harris, who will be focusing on the applicants’ case.
This panel discussion is targeted at housing lawyers in the legal aid sector, alongside local authority lawyers and officers dealing with homelessness matters.
