Application by Queensgate Bow UK Holdco Limited Kensington Forum Hotel, 97 Cromwell Road, London SW7 4DN

19 Mar 2021

Local Government

Between 2019 and 2021 Lisa acted in an advisory capacity for a number of local residents’ associations who were Rule 6 parties in the protracted proceedings involving an application by Queensgate to demolish the existing Kensington Forum Hotel in South Kensington and the erection of a replacement hotel. Amongst other issues, the case involved consideration of the provisions of the London Squares Preservation Act 1931, and their implications for the proposed redevelopment of the Hotel, given its close proximity to the protected Ashburn Garden Square. The application was withdrawn on 19th March 2021, following a decision on the part of the Mayor of London to grant planning permission, and the calling in of the application by the Secretary of State on 14th January 2021.

These proceedings received widespread coverage in the national and local press.
