Ashley Underwood QC has been instructed on behalf of a Core Participant in the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry in Northern Ireland. The Inquiry is about to commence an investigation into the State’s responsibility for sexual abuse of residents at the Kincora Boys’ Home, against a background of allegations that the abuse was sanctioned by MI5 for the purpose of blackmailing political figures who engaged in that abuse.
Ashley’s client is one of those who was abused there as a child.
