We are delighted to announce that following successful completion of their pupillage, Dr Christina Lienen and Olivia Davies have accepted Chambers’ offer of tenancy.

Before coming to the Bar, Olivia had both private and public sector legal experience. In the private sector, Olivia worked in the Brussels office of an international law firm, drafting EU merger filings.
Olivia has a degree in law from St. Peter’s College, Oxford and a Competition Law LLM from King’s College, London for which she received a Distinction. Olivia read for the Bar at City Law School, with the benefit of an Exhibition from Inner Temple. She was graded Outstanding. During her studies, she volunteered with the Citizens Advice Bureau and Free Representation Unit, achieving a successful outcome in social security appeals for all her clients.
During pupillage, Olivia was supervised by Philip Coppel QC, Ed Grant, Emmaline Lambert and Rob Williams. She carried out work for her supervisors, members of Chambers and her own clients in a range of areas including public, housing, commercial, and data protection law, and assisted in cases such as the SNP’s judicial review challenge of its exclusion from the leaders’ debate by ITV.
Christina was called to the Bar in 2019 as a Queen Mother Scholar (2018) and Jules Thorn Scholar (2017) by Middle Temple. She holds a PhD in Constitutional Law from University College London (funded by LAHP and the Modern Law Review), where she also held a position as Teaching Fellow in Public Law (2016-2017). Her academic work on common law constitutional rights has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Public Law and Legal Studies.
During her pupillage, Christina was supervised by Estelle Dehon, Philip Coppel QC and Dean Underwood. She gained experience across a broad range of areas both while completing work for her supervisors and other members of Chambers as well as through her own instructions. This included work in the fields of information and data protection law, human rights law, planning law (including environmental law aspects), housing law, commercial law and antisocial-behaviour law.
