Jack Parker will appear at the Examination into the North Yorkshire Minerals and Waste Joint Plan on 24 and 25 of January 2019. Jack will represent local residents seeking to ensure that policies to protect residential amenity from the impacts of fracking are not removed from the Plan in light of the Government’s Written Ministerial Statement of 17 May 2018.
Members of Cornerstone Barristers have extensive experience in environmental law and have been involved in several cases related to shale gas and fracking.
Last year, Estelle Dehon represented Gayzer Frackman in his Court of Appeal challenge to the Government’s decision to grant permission for the UK’s first shale gas exploration in Lancashire. instructed by Leigh Day, Dr Ashley Bowes represented Preston New Road Action Group in that litigation.
Along with Matt Lewin, Estelle also represented Friends of the Earth in the inquiry brought by Cuadrilla against the decisions of Lancashire County Council to refuse planning permission for fracking developments in Lancashire.
Robin Green and Jack Parker represented Roseacre Awareness Group and Ashley represented Preston New Road Action Group, who all oppose the grant of planning permission. Ben Du Feu also represented the Roseacre Awareness Group at the public inquiry into the Roseacre Wood site in April 2018.
