Kuljit Bhogal appointed King’s Counsel
We are delighted to announce that Kuljit Bhogal has today been appointed King’s Counsel (KC) at the Silks Day ceremony held at Westminster Hall. This appointment takes the number of Silks at Cornerstone Barristers up to 14.
Kuljit has a formidable public law practice and is recognised as a leading barrister by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500. She also sits as a Recorder of the Crown Court, a role to which she was appointed in 2020.
On taking Silk, Kuljit said: “I found the KC selection process rigorous and demanding but I am delighted to have been recognised for the national significance of the work I do and its impact on people and communities. I am especially proud of assisting in the creation of the UK’s first buffer zone to prevent protests outside a medical facility and my work to make our communities safer.
“As someone with a state school education and the first in my family to go to university, becoming a King’s Counsel is a huge honour and one that, I hope, will serve as inspiration to others. As ever, I am enormously grateful to my clients, colleagues and family who have supported me over the years. I look forward to continuing that work as a KC.”
We warmly congratulate Kuljit on this well-deserved achievement.
