Land off Station Road, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire

Planning and Environment

Lisa represented the local planning authority in an appeal against the refusal of outline planning permission for “residential development (up to 100 dwellings) including infrastructure, ancillary facilities, open space and landscaping”; demolition of existing buildings; and construction of a new vehicular access off Station Road at a site in the Cotswolds AONB.

The main issues in the Inquiry concerned the extent of the housing land shortfall in the District and its implications for other planning policies, and the effects of the proposed development on the area’s character and appearance, including its effects on the landscape of the Cotswolds AONB and on the setting of Bourton-on-the-Water.

The Inspector’s Decision Letter allowing the appeal was issued on 15 January 2014.
