Christofis v Neophytou

Property

A lengthy dilapidations claim relating to alleged waste of a commercial shop in North London which had been let for over 20 years. Shomik represented N, who defended the claim and counterclaimed in disrepair. A primary issue was who was responsible for the maintenance of various sections of flat roofing which served only the shop in question. There was an overlap in the obligations of the landlord and tenant in this regard: the lease obliged them both to repair the same.
