Lisa Busch QC acted for Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council in the Inquiry concerning the Northern Ireland section of the north-south interconnector, a 400 kv strategic link between the electricity grids of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland aimed at increasing the capacity and reliability of interconnection between the existing network and the new proposed network.

The Council did not object to the proposal in principle but attended the Inquiry to lend its support for the case for undergrounding the northern section of the network on the basis of its landscape and visual impacts, impacts on tourism, concerns relating to electric and magnetic fields, noise and cultural heritage impacts.

The Northern Ireland Department for Infrastructure announced its approval for the project on 23 January 2018.
