Recognition for Finch Litigation at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025

Cornerstone Barristers is pleased to share that the Supreme Court case of Finch v Surrey County Council [2024] UKSC 20 has been Highly Commended in the Case of the Year category at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025.
This groundbreaking case, in which the Supreme Court ruled that the grant of planning permission for oil production in Surrey was unlawful for failing to assess the ‘downstream’ greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, saw six members of Chambers instructed on all sides. They were Estelle Dehon KC, Harriet Townsend, Ruchi Parekh, Nina Pindham, Alex Williams and David Welsh.
