About this event

Since 2011, central government has sought to reduce the numbers of ‘lifetime’ tenancies granted in the social housing sector by introducing amendments to the Housing Acts.

As fixed-term tenancies now begin to expire for the first time, social landlords and tenants are entering untested legal waters and facing new challenges.

This seminar will provide an overview of fixed-term and flexible tenancies and their statutory context. It will cover issues which practitioners may face on granting, reviewing, renewing and ending fixed-term tenancies. It will be of interest to all legal practitioners working on social housing who advise social landlords or tenants regarding their rights in these tenancies.
