Freedom of Speech: Sam Fowles’ Guest Lecture at the University of York

06 Mar 2023

Sam Fowles will give a guest lecture at the University of York, as part of the “York Ideas” series, which will explore freedom of speech issues informed by Sam’s practice in human rights, public, and constitutional law.

As part of Cornerstone Barrister’s Public Law and Information Law groups, Sam is regularly instructed in high profile constitutional matters involving issues of freedom of expression (both under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights and in common law). Notable cases include the parliamentary inquiry into the policing of the Clapham Common vigil for Sarah Everard, and publication of the “Russia Report” into foreign interference in UK elections.

Details: 8 March 2023, 6:30pm, Room RCH/037, Ron Cooke Hub, Campus East, University of York. Free but ticketed.
