Licensing

This application involved a commercial client known as Proud2 operating the largest nightclub in the O2 Centre with a capacity of over 2500 people and a very late licence. The police had brought a summary review following an incident of major violence and associated anti-social behaviour at the premises. Revocation of the licence was sought. The application required robust representation and detailed negotiation with the police, ultimately leading to the agreement of a series of conditions which were acceptable to both sides. The Greenwich Licensing Sub-Committee were minded to revoke the licence, having suspended it as a summary step, but were ultimately persuaded to impose slightly modified conditions without any serious criticism of the management.
