Sam Fowles spoke at Global Justice Now Trade Day

09 Mar 2018

Cornerstone pupil Sam Fowles gave the first speech at the Global Justice Now Trade Day, focusing on the issues for public and constitutional lawyers raided by post-Brexit trade agreements. Other speakers included Barry Gardiner, the Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade, and Caroline Lucas, the Co-Leader of the Green Party.

Sam said: “It has never been more important for public lawyers to be aware of the changing political sands on which we operate. In core areas like planning, housing, and environmental law, Brexit and post-Brexit policy on things like trade will impact at a granular level. It is incredibly important that lawyers are prepared to give clients practical advice in an uncertain political context.”
