Planning and Environment

Planning permission has been granted for 45 units (in outline) after a five-day public inquiry in Henham, Essex.

The Inspector found that significant harm arising from car dependency, moderate harm to the landscape and the limited harm of a loss of BMV land did not significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefit of new market and affordable housing in the context of a 3.11 years land supply, a 20% biodiversity net gain and the economic benefits of the scheme.

Ashley Bowes acted for the Appellant (instructed by Andy Butcher at Strutt & Parker)

Asitha Ranatunga acted for the Council (instructed by Ann Howells at Uttlesford District Council).
