Richard Ground KC and Ben Du Feu’s planning permission for CHP upheld by the High Court
On Friday 18th November, the High Court upheld a planning permission decision to build 130 affordable homes for NHS workers. Chamber’s Richard Ground KC and Ben Du Feu successfully resisted the challenge to the planning permission on behalf of Community Health Partnerships (CHP).
CHP are owned by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and exist to improve community-based health and social care services by improving the NHS estate. It is the first such scheme CHP and the North Central London Integrated Care System have promoted to help NHS hospitals retain and attract staff in London. The decision is timely with the lack of access to affordable housing currently driving NHS staff from London.
Richard and Ben were instructed by Rachel Whale and Vicki Moore of Capsticks, and Paul Burley and Howard Williams of Montagu Evans provided specialist planning and development support for the scheme.
