The Law of Emergency Powers
On Wednesday 1st March, Sam Fowles will appear at the Cambridge Literary Festival to discuss “Democracy Under Threat”. Sam will be in conversation with Doughty Street’s Adam Wagner, where they will examine the use of emergency powers by the government during the Coronavirus Pandemic and elsewhere.
The event is part of the Cambridge Literary Festival “pop-up” season.
They will also discuss Adam’s new book on the coronavirus crisis: “Emergency State: How We Lost Our Freedoms in the Pandemic and Why it Matters” and Sam’s book “Overruled: Confronting our Vanishing Democracy in 8 Cases”.
