Wokingham District Local Plan/ New Settlement Housing Inquiries

Appeared for a major party in the joined Wokingham Local Plan Inquiry and three called-in housing applications for 2,500 houses. Leading council and junior represented four of the parties. It involved three Inspectors and consortia of the largest house builders in the UK. The Inquiries sat for twelve months and the Inspectors report was published in August 2000. My clients included the neighbouring LPA, 22 Parish Councils and 11 amenity groups. The Inspectors recommended and the Secretary of State decided in favour of my clients’ position, all three applications were refused.
