“From Green to Blue – planning under the Conservatives”

The Cornerstone Annual Planning Day, which took place on 16th November at the Royal College of Surgeons, saw a number of  planning consultants, solicitors and developers join the Cornerstone Planning Team to look at planning issues under the new Conservative government, with topics including housing supply, engaging with the local community, sustainable development and the Planning Court.

Robin Cooper, Chief Executive of the Ebsfleet Development Corporation and key note speaker, opened the day with a presentation on the the Ebbsfleet Garden City development, the first in the country for over a century. Robin later joined the panel session to discuss housing and local plans with James Findlay QC (chair), Mark Lowe QC, Mary Cook, Paul Shadarevian and Martin Edwards.

Also speaking at the Cornerstone Annual Planning Day were Tom Cosgrove, Asitha Ranatunga, Harriet Townsend, Jonathan Clay, Michael Bedford, Clare Parry and Emma Dring.

All those who attended the conference were entered into a draw to win a copy of Cornerstone on the Planning Court. The lucky winner was Bernard Ralph of GCL Solicitors LLP.

The Cornerstone Annual Planning Day was also attended by The Planner magazine which reported on the main points of discussion from the day. Click here to read the full article.
